TYLER OAKLEY

Wesch suggest that YouTube allows people from all over the world to connect, communicate and form a sense of communities. However, when we look at the 'Top Comments' on Tyler's video, about a quarter of them are actually hate or negative comments. Some just being explicitly rude towards Tyler himself (see below)...

Whereas some comments were more trashing the content of the videos (and similar videos) in general (see below)...

Although, there are still a large amount of positive comments. As well as comments from alleged old friends...

He gets a lot of free stuff from fans, I guess.

ANDREW KEEN:-

I think vloggers similar to Tyler Oakley can devalue professionals a little by filling the top part of the internet with nonsensical videos. However, these nonsensical videos are in demand now, so is that a bad thing?

Independent Film Channel

Nelson Madison is a company that, through it's Indie Rights programme, helps filmmakers by being a digital distributor and using Web 2.0 and other sites to distribute their films.

Below shows a list of the ways NM can distribute the films that it publishes. These sites spread throughout the internet and different gaming platforms, giving them a relatively wide reach.

The films they distribute are generally niche products. This, in the longterm, could demonstrate the longtail theory.

Below is a similar list to the earlier, but this includes more marketing options (and the price of said options).

Knowledge Communities and Collective Thinking - Frozen

Knowledge Communities:-
1- Tumblr disneyfrozen.tumblr.com (reblogs fan works posted all over Tumblr
2- Fanpop http://www.fanpop.com/clubs/frozen (a site where people can distribute their fan works
and give their opinions - have to join to distribute. Below shows some GIFs produced and shared.)
3- DeviantART - http://disney-frozen.deviantart.com/ (a group where Frozen fanart throughout the DeviantART site can be collected together by the moderator of the group)

Collective Thinking:-
There is a moderator/admin on each of the above sites, who chooses what content is appropriate to be posted and shared on the sites. They have the power to remove, add and - to a limited extent - alter the submitted content, as well as block users.
